Communication during and immediately after an emergency is an important component of response and recovery. It connects affected people, families, and communities with first responders, support systems, and other family members.
Recognizing how crucial Emergency Communication is, San Juan Islands Prepare is developing a multifaceted approach to ensure our community can respond promptly, accurately, and confidently during any emergency where power outages have occurred.
Neighborhood Zones
Each residence will be located within a neighborhood ZONE, which will have a unique channel to communicate on. FRS and GMRS purchased through San Juan Islands Prepare will be preprogrammed to your specific neighborhood ZONE so that neighborhoods throughout the San Juan Islands can stay informed and assist in providing critical updates to support emergency responders.
